DOVER: GIVES BIRTH AT HOME
The Hamilton family reunited after the joyful event with the paramedic staff who assisted in the birth of Mrs. Becky in her home living room. Becky was at full term when she started feeling her first contractions. At the hospital, she was advised to wait comfortably at home and try taking a bath. Towards evening, her husband Nathan called 999 after the contractions intensified. He stayed on the phone with Adam, a medical assistant who guided him via phone, while a team of paramedics was immediately dispatched to the scene. It was with this incredible adventure that little Elliot was born in the family's living room on August 1st. Mother and baby were then taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for check-ups. Discharged the following day, they were able to celebrate together with Lexi, the new arrival's older sister. After this adventure, the family reunited with the entire medical team to celebrate the birth.
Adam from the EMA (Emergency Medical Advisor) added: 'Responding to a 999 call like that is always memorable. It was a privilege to be a part of something so positive and to meet Becky, Nathan, and Lexi in person, and of course, to cuddle little Elliot.' According to the Office for National Statistics, only about 1.9% of births in England happen at home.
