Dover: Man charged with the murder of his daughter’s boyfriend.

Stephen Rooke, 68, from Dover, is accused of killing his daughter’s boyfriend, Robert Else, on the morning of January 29. Police were called on the morning of January 29 following an assault in Rose Gardens, Eythorne, near Dover. Upon arrival, despite the rapid response of emergency services, officers could only pronounce the young man dead at the scene. Rooke was immediately detained and charged with murder. During the hearing at Canterbury Crown Court, he pleaded not guilty. The victim, who lived in Rose Gardens, was described as an always kind and smiling man, a "beloved son" whose "memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones."
