THREE YEARS OLD AND PASSIONATE ABOUT BUSES
Three-year-old Jacob, a bus enthusiast, had the honour of visiting Stagecoach's south-east bus depot in Whitfield with his grandmother. Here, he met driver Andrea Hayes, with whom he has forged a bond.
The driver stated: 'The connection we build with our passengers, no matter how young or old, is really special.'
The boy received a t-shirt and hat as a gift with the tour, just like a real driver. Manager Louise Sills, who welcomed him there, stated: 'Jacob's smile said it all. He is such a ray of sunshine on his journeys, and our drivers look forward to seeing him.
'It was wonderful to be able to invite him in, show him how everything works, and make him feel like part of the team for the day.'
Fastrack was launched in Dover on November 17th last year, connecting the train station with Dover Castle, the Burgoyne Heights estate, and Whitfield, including the Dover District Leisure Centre. To Jacob's delight, his name has been permanently placed on the front of one of the Stagecoach buses.
